Internal Segment Customers with 2 or more servers on our network can multi-home their servers (2nd NIC) in order to maintain a private internal segment exclusive to their servers. Server Arts provides extra NICs, switched vLANs and configuration assistance free of charge. Internal segments are implemented on 100 Mbps managed switches and facilitate secure communication among the customer's servers. File sharing services are enabled on the internal secure segment only and are disabled on the external TCP/IP segment exposed to the Internet. This configuration significantly enhances security and defeats many known hacker attacks. Protocol isolation on the internal segment (i.e. NetBeui as opposed to non-routable TCP/IP) can also be utilized to further isolate inter-server communications . The internal segment is created for the exclusive use of each customer and bandwidth consumption is free on this segment
